Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) - Including Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
PSHE encompasses our whole world and here at Longford Park that is what influences our teaching of PSHE alongside the government curriculum. Our PSHE curriculum is catered to each class’s needs and age range. What is taught in early years will be differentiated to what is taught in year six however all of the children will cover the same PSHE topics, such as relationships, health & wellbeing and community. PSHE is taught discretely once a week with teachers following the plans created by the PSHE lead but it is embedded across the school throughout the week during circle times and reflective times of discussion and conversation. The main intent of our PSHE curriculum is to deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all and that will maximise the outcomes for every child so that they know more, remember more and understand more but it is also there to help the children understand their feelings and emotions in a safe and secure school environment to best prepare them for the future. We also implement our core values of Believe, Belong and Become for the children to believe in themselves, feel that they belong to our school and wider community and that they can become the best that they can be; confidence in themselves is a key factor within the PSHE curriculum.
